Today’s Official Counts (June 5, 2026):
Spruce: 346 (High) – NEW SEASON RECORD! Up sharply from yesterday's 232. The male cones are wide open, and the valley air is thick with yellow dust.
Birch: 130 (High) – Although it dipped slightly from yesterday's 176, birch remains firmly entrenched in the high zone, extending its stubborn June "second wind."
Alder: 40 (Moderate) – Continuing to recede nicely from its peak earlier in the week, providing a bit of a breather for alder-sensitive folks.
Chokecherry: 4 (Low)
Poplar: 1 (Low)Sedge: 4 (Low)
Mold* Spores: 629 (Low)
