Custodial Services

Custodial services at UAF is composed of contracted custodial and the UAF Custodial Service Shop.

The UAF Custodial Service Shop provides the following services:

  • Quality control for UAF’s academic and administrative janitorial, floor work, window and building wash contracts as well as the off-campus facilities custodial contract.
  • Pest control scheduling and coordination
  • Trash cans provided for public use
  • Walk-off mats provided for public areas
  • Inspection of UAF facilities for basic maintenance issues

The following services are provided by contracted custodial in academic and administrative facilities once per service day. Please see the below links for schedules and diagrams of serviced areas.

  • Trash removal and odor control, liners replaced and cans washed as needed.
  • Touchpoints disinfected daily, including door handles, push plates, switches, ADA buttons, handrails, and similar high-contact surfaces.
  • Surfaces cleaned, disinfected, and kept free of buildup, including sinks, counters, fixtures, desks, and tables.
  • Restocking of commercial wall-mounted dispensers such as soap, paper towel, toilet paper
  • Floor care, including sweeping, vacuuming, dust mopping, mopping, and autoscrubbing. Strip and wax service and carpet cleaning is done once per year.
  • Restroom and shower/locker room sanitation, including toilets, urinals, showers, drains, partitions, mirrors, and dispensers fully cleaned and disinfected.
  • Board cleaning and supply replenishment in classrooms, labs, lounges, and conference rooms. Boards in offices and cubicles are not included in custodial cleaning services, and custodial contractors do not supply markers, chalk, erasers, or board-cleaning spray
  • Spot cleaning of walls, doors, furniture, and locker exteriors performed in all serviced areas.
