Payment Plans and Advance of Funding

Are you unable to pay your account balance in full or have financial aid arriving after a fee payment deadline? The Office of the Bursar offers multiple payment plan options throughout the semester. To avoid semester late fees, make sure you contact our office or enroll in a payment plan before the semester's posted fee payment deadline.

UAF payment plans are available to UAF degree and non-degree seeking students only. UAA and UAS students will need to contact their degree seeking campus. Once enrolled in a payment plan, students will need to make their payments through their UAOnline account or in person at the Office of the Bursar in Signers' Hall.  Personal payments, including payments from a college savings account, will apply to the next payment due. Financial aid payments from FAFSA will apply towards the entire account balance, not specifically to the next installment due.

Spring 2027 Payment Deadline – January 29th, 2027


SPRING 2027 Payment Plan Schedule

Option 6 available 12/6/26 – 12/20/26. Pay 1/6th of the balance down including the $65 enrollment fee. The 5 remaining payments are due by 1/5, 2/5, 3/5, 4/5 and 5/5.

Option 5 available 12/6/26 – 1/20/27. Pay 1/5th of the balance down including the $65 enrollment fee. The 4 remaining payments are due by 2/5, 3/5, 4/5 and 5/5.

Option 4 available 12/20/26 - 2/20/27. Pay 1/4th of the balance down including the $65 enrollment fee. The 3 remaining payments are due by 3/5, 4/5 and 5/5.

Option 3 available 2/15/27 - 3/20/27. Pay 1/3rd of the balance down including the $65 enrollment fee. The 2 remaining payments are due by 4/5 and 5/5.

Option 2 available 3/15/27 - 4/20/27. Pay 1/2 of the balance down including the $65 enrollment fee. The 1 remaining payment is due by 5/5.

Deferred Payment Plan available 12/06/26 - 3/20/27. No enrollment fee for this plan. The student must have 100% guaranteed funding and submit written verification of payment. Payment is due in full by 4/1/26. These plans will be made available through UAOnline once guaranteed funding documentation has been received via email. Contact the Office of the Bursar if you know you have financial aid or other payments that will pay your account balance in full, but it will be arriving after the tuition and fee payment deadline. If payment is not received in full by 4/5/27, a one-time late fee of $175 will be applied to the account.

Students paying UAF monthly rent must enroll in the UAF RENT payment plan.

 

Summer 2027 Payment Plan Schedule

Option 4 is available 5/02/27 - 5/20/27. Pay 1/4th of the balance down including the $65 enrollment fee. The 3 remaining payments are due on 6/5, 7/5, and 8/5.

Option 3 is available 5/02/27 - 6/20/27. Pay 1/3rd of the balance down including the $65 enrollment fee. The 2 remaining payments are due on 7/5, and 8/5.

Option 2 is available 6/15/27 - 7/20/27. Pay 1/2 of the balance down including the $65 enrollment fee. The 1 remaining payment is due on 8/5.

The Deferred Payment Plan is available 5/2/2027 to 6/20/2027. There is no enrollment fee for this plan. If you expect to receive financial aid that will cover your entire account balance after the tuition and fee payment deadline, please contact the Office of the Bursar. To be eligible for this payment plan, students must provide proof of guaranteed funding paid directly to UAF that will cover their entire balance. This requires submitting written verification, such as a scholarship award letter on the entity's letterhead that includes the semester, amount awarded, and the students full name. After review, eligible students will receive an email with instructions on how to enroll in the Deferred Payment Plan. Please note that if full payment is not received by 7/5/27, a one-time late fee of $175 will be applied to your account.

Students paying UAF monthly rent must enroll in the UAF RENT payment plan.

Fall 2026 Payment Deadline - September 11th. 

If you are registered for classes prior to the payment deadline, you must be enrolled in a payment plan by September 11th to avoid late fees.

Fall 2026 Early Enrollment Plan 6/1-7/15. Pay 1/6th of the balance down including the enrollment fee. The 5 remaining payments are due by 8/3, 9/1, 10/1, 11/2 and 12/1. The enrollment fee is $65 online. **Students with a previous balance greater than $500 or currently enrolled in a summer payment plan can not enroll in this plan**

Option 5 available 7/16 – 8/16. Pay 1/5th of the balance down including the enrollment fee. The 4 remaining payments are due by 9/1, 10/1, 11/2 and 12/1. The enrollment fee is $65 online.

Option 4 available 8/02 – 9/15. Pay 1/4th of the balance down including the enrollment fee. The 3 remaining payments are due by 10/1, 11/2 and 12/1. The enrollment fee is $65 online.

Option 3 available 8/16 - 10/16. Pay 1/3rd of the balance down including the enrollment fee. The 2 remaining payments are due by 11/2 and 12/1. The enrollment fee is $65 online.

Option 2 available 10/15- 11/15. Pay 1/2 of the balance down including the enrollment fee. The 1 remaining payment is due by 12/1. The enrollment fee is $65 online.

UAOnline Payment Plan Enrollment Instructions

  1. Log in to
  2. Click “View or Pay My Bill - Payment Plansâ€
  3. Acknowledge any applicable Consents/Agreements
  4. Click on "Enroll in Payment Plan" at the top of the page.
  5. Select the Current Term and payment plan option.
  6. Complete the remaining steps. You will receive a confirmation email with your payment details.

Paying rent by line item instructions

 

Textbook Loans

Textbook loans are processed approximately one month before courses start.

For requests up to $500. No aid verification is required.

The money from these requests will be applied to your PolarExpress Card as Bear Bucks. You will be able to purchase books and necessary supplies at any .  You do not need a PolarExpress card to purchase your textbooks online. At checkout, simply log in with your UA single sign on and enter your UA ID number when prompted. The amount will be deducted from your Bear Bucks account. Advance of Funding


For requests greater than $500, aid verification is required.

Students must provide guaranteed proof of aid that will cover 100% of their UA account balance and the amount requested. Aid verification can include a Bursar Award Confirmation completed by the UAF Financial Aid Office (), scholarship award letters, and/or other sources of funding.

The money from these requests will be applied to your PolarExpress Card as Bear Bucks. You will be able to purchase books and necessary supplies at any .  You do not need a PolarExpress card to purchase your textbooks online. At checkout, simply log in with your UA single sign on and enter your UA ID number when prompted. The amount will be deducted from your Bear Bucks account. Instructions For Submitting A Form

The completed Textbook Loan and Advance of Funding form may be submitted to the UAF Office of the Bursar by email or in person.

Requests of $500 or more:
Aid verification is required.

If funding is anticipated through FAFSA or scholarships:

  • the form may be taken to the UAF Financial Aid Office to complete the Bursar Award Confirmation section, or
  • Scholarship award letters may be submitted directly to the UAF Office of the Bursar.

Other forms of payment:
If payment will be made through other means (not financial aid), supporting documentation must be provided to the UAF Office of the Bursar for review.

Once received, the request will be reviewed, and additional information will be requested if necessary. Upon approval, the designated funds will be applied to the student’s Bear Bucks account. The UAF Office of the Bursar will notify the student once the funds are available.
