Alexander named dean of UAF Community and Technical ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø

Following a competitive national search, Kevin W. Alexander has been appointed as the permanent dean of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Community and Technical ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. A lifelong Alaskan, Alexander has been a dedicated member of the UAF CTC community for more than 21 years, most recently serving as the college's interim dean.
Alexander’s journey with CTC began as a student in the Aviation Maintenance program. Since then, he has served the university in several capacities, including professor and director of aviation. His leadership is informed by decades of statewide experience, including private-sector aviation work throughout the Interior and Western Alaska. As a former small business owner and skilled tradesman, Alexander brings first-hand understanding of the challenges facing Alaska’s workforce and the essential professions that CTC supports.
With deep ties to Fairbanks and the Interior, Alexander is committed to expanding educational opportunities, strengthening rural access, and advancing high-quality career and technical education for all Alaskans. His connection to the region is further reinforced by his family’s active engagement in local sectors, including transportation, education, the military and the essential trades.

Alexander is an advocate for the transformative power of vocational training and looks forward to continuing his work with students, staff and faculty to meet the evolving needs of Alaska’s economy.
