Happy Halloween, everyone! Welcome to Week 10 of our journey together!
In the spirit of Halloween, let’s chat about something spooky: final exams. While
they might feel scary, they don’t have to be! Think of them like a dark shadow that
we can light up with a little preparation in the four full weeks of classes left after
this week until the end of the term.Ìý
One fun way to tackle our study time is to break the remaining weeks into manageable
chunks. In each of those chunks, try to review and revisit material from the last
three weeks of class. By doing this, you’ll have a great grip on the past fifteen
weeks when finals roll around. Breaking it down like this makes the end of the semester
feel a lot less daunting!
Whether you stick with this plan, create one of your own, or seek out more , the key is to start early and put in the time. There are no shortcuts to a stress-free
end to this semester, but with the right preparation, you’ll be ready to shine!
If you’re feeling anxious or unsure of where to begin, please reach out to the Student Success Center. The academic coaches and tutors there are super helpful and can guide you through the challenges ahead.
They’re here to help you finish strong!
So, let’s get the support you need, invest your time wisely, and get ready for your
victory lap!

to make it happen. Visiting representatives from our affiliated study abroad program
providers, staff from UAF departments, and students who have studied away before will
be available to answer questions. There will also be interactive activities and prizes
for attendees.
There is a scary amount of things to do! I wish you all a fantastic tenth week of
classes, a fun Halloween, and remember to stay safe while celebrating!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on how we can make things even better. You can reach me at obguthrie@alaska.edu.
