Erlingur Gudleifsson is among the and will be on a panel moderated by Clay Koplin, “Distributed Data Centers and Stranded Energy: A Model for Alaska,” which will explore how distributed data centers can unlock the value of Alaska’s abundant stranded energy.
Gudleifsson will talk about how Iceland’s data center industry has grown in a small, isolated part of the North Atlantic, where there is extra renewable energy that can be easily turned on or off. Initially enabled by access to low-cost interruptible power, the sector has evolved into one of the fastest-growing electricity-consuming industries in Iceland.
