Business of Alaska rural energy workshop
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 28-29, the Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference, in
partnership with the Alaska Center for Energy and Power, is hosting a free two-day virtual workshop focused on energy project development
and operational sustainability in rural Alaska.
Stand-alone power systems and fuel storage facilities in nearly 200 remote communities in Alaska face escalating burdens from aging equipment, limited resources and shrinking funding.
The workshop, The business of Alaska rural energy: Project development and operational sustainability, will explore solutions to close the ever-widening gap between community needs and available resources, aiming to ensure safe and reliable energy delivery and strengthen local and regional capacity to support long-term community energy security.
This workshop is part of the Continuing Conversations series to be held between now and the 2026 Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference.
When: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. AKDT, Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 28 and 29
The workshop is free, but to attend.
